Leesman and Rosenbaum named minor league All-Stars

A pair of former Steam pitchers, Charlie Leesman and Danny Rosenbaum, has been named to their respective minor league all-star games.

Leesman, an Elder High School product who played collegiately at Xavier University, is currently in the Chicago White Sox organization playing for the Triple-A Charlotte Knights. The tall left-hander has a 7-6 record in 16 starts with 69 strikeouts in 88.1 innings of work and his 2.75 ERA in second in the International League. Leesman was a Double-A all-star last season for the Southern League Birmingham Barons.

The Triple-A All-Star game will take place on July 11 at 7pm in Buffalo, New York and will be broadcast live on the MLB Network. Leesman will represent the International League versus the Pacific Coast League.

Leesman spent three summers (2006-08) playing for the Steam and helped lead the team to the 2008 Great Lake Summer Collegiate League regular season title and playoff championship. In 2007, Leesman pitched a complete game, two-hit shutout against Lake Erie on June 16 as the Steam beat the Monarchs 1-0.

Rosenbaum, who also pitched for both Indiana University and Xavier after graduating from Loveland High School, was named to the Double-A Eastern League all-star team. Rosenbaum, who plays for the Washington Nationals’ affiliate Harrisburg Senators, is 7-5 in 16 starts with a 3.17 ERA in 102.1 innings of work including 65 strikeouts.

The Double-A All-Star game is also on July 11 and will be played in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Rosenbaum pitched one summer for the Steam going 4-3 with a 5.06 ERA in 26.2 innings over nine appearances during the 2007 season.
